I have 3 layers and currently I multiply 2 images and add a third layer as background ...

I get the following effect the whole background image has a reduced brightness
Untitled.png
If i deselect the other layers the brightness on the background is increased

The source images are here :

Background :
Landscape_2_2.png

What do you want to happen?

I want to mask the foreground with a circle and the background with the inverted mask.
Like this without any brightness enhancement
Untitled.png
I got this by adding a mask to the foreground layer and adding the inverted mark to the background layer as properties.

But I want to be able to move the mask around dynamically and it is not possible if you add the mask as a property. I want to add the masks as layers and add and subtract to get the desired output

here is a how-to on masks:
https://resolume.com/manual/en/r4/masks
But I want to be able to move the mask around dynamically and it is not possible if you add the mask as a property. I want to add the masks as layers and add and subtract to get the desired output
you should then create a big mask depending on the amount you want to move your mask, to have the masked area always cover the composition, and the mask image should be white where you want to see thru it, and black where you don't. layer bend mode to Multiply and layer opacity, half way (right click on slider).

yes, for example with /layer2/video/positionx/values (0-1)f , /layer2/video/positiony/values (0-1)f ,
see Mapping - OSC map

I am very sorry but I am not able to do this. The mask is stretching itself to the whole image. Do you have any sample I would use and try ?

that's what I am saying, that your mask needs to be re-created.

Sorry but I re created the mask but when I move the layer via OSC the whole layer moves. i want only the mask to move and the background and foreground should be adjusted accordingly in real time, which isn't happening.

ok, then you can use the osc address /layer2/clip1/video/positionx/values
these addresses are pretty straightforward,

I have to correct myself on the mask, tried it see video for the setup:
