Can't back up & use my ContextualKeyboardShortcuts

Hi, there
Even when it was mentioned here several times, how to back up your mapping via the preferences/midi-thing and if I do so, at least on my rig it doesn't work at all.
In my eyes the problem starts already there, when you want to save/load your contextualKeyboardShortcuts (CKS), you have to do it via the preferences/midi-box. I've tested it before I have reinstalled R4 2.1, the result is once you load another CKS-file, the mapping of that one which is actually used will be still "in service". Example: In a Application Key Map (AKM) the first four clips are triggered by ascending numbers (1,2,3,4), then I load via preferences/midi another CKS-file only with the first two clips triggered by 1 & 2 and if open the AKM then the I see that the Key-binding 3 & 4 is still there AND, worse, if you want to change the Key 1 & 2 now, I have to delete each TWICE.

Having done the re-installation I thought the only way to back up my CKS is to save them in separate Folder named to the corresponding version of the CKS without changing the name of the CKS.
As I couldn't use the CKS of the last months because they are messed up with double key-bindings as I wrote before, I decided to take the effort to remap all my key-bindings again to get a solid base for the future. By the way I am missing a "clearing-all-keyboardshortcuts"-order in the AKM-Menu. Further on I noticed a "discrete" change in mapping procedure: While before in the AKM only ONE layer was highlighted in blue, now every layer is coloured in blue, (see attachments) which has as a result that each time I push the 1,2,3,4,...key not only the active layer triggers a clip, but all layers. So it is senseless to go on and I can't go on with my projects.
how it should be when you are in the Application Key menu
how it should be when you are in the Application Key menu
every deck is blue after re-installation
every deck is blue after re-installation
Do have an Idea to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance for your help,
B

Change the focus from 'deck' to 'layer' in the bottom left. This is where you will also find the 'Remove All' button.

Thank you Joris for your high-speed-response, which was very helpful. :D
My apologizes for having not read the right chapter of the manual, honestly I read the other concerning in /export of the CSK-files via the preferences/midi-box. Am I wrong there, when I am saying this procedure, mentioned above, creates an undesired double key-binding?

thank you & best regards,
B

I'm very curious to see where it says in our manual that saving the app midi map also saves the keyboard mappings.

Hi Joris,
it is not mentioned in the documentation and I haven't said that neither. (I read it some time ago here in the forum, that someone did it in that way, so I did also) This import/export-function is made for the midi-mapping, but I am missing it for the contextuel-keyboard-shortcut as well, because it would make my life easier.
Off-topic but important: When I am using a keybind which implicates the "ctrl"-key, RA wants to load a Composition. Is it a default setting? If so, how can I deactivate this?
Thank you in advance & best regards,
B

Thanks for explaining. Your use of the word 'other' right after mentioning manual chapters would indicate that there is an other chapter in the manual where this is mentioned. I'm happy to hear this is not the case, because that would a mistake on our part.
having not read the right chapter of the manual, honestly I read the other concerning in /export of the CSK-files via the preferences/midi-box
A lot of modifier key shortcuts are assigned to application defaults, such CTRL-O to open a composition, CTRL-L to add a layer and CTRL-Q to quit the app. These are fixed and cannot be changed.

My apologize, Joris, this was my fault: I wanted to mention the chapter concerning the im/export of the
"contextualMidiShortcuts"
 again.
A lot of modifier key shortcuts are assigned to application defaults, such CTRL-O to open a composition, CTRL-L to add a layer and CTRL-Q to quit the app. These are fixed and cannot be changed.
I looked for such a list before in the manual.
Is there a complete list of modifier key shortcuts-list (containing the all CTRL-strings ?) obtainable?
But anyway, I only have to touch the CTRL key and the Opening-dialog pops up.
And then I should mention that I have to use the GlovePIE-scripting-tool to control RA via voice, because I need my hands free, while I am performing..........makes it really hard!

There is no complete list of menu item shortcuts available. You should be able to find all of them by scanning the menus, since each item displays its shortcut behind it.
But anyway, I only have to touch the CTRL key and the Opening-dialog pops up.
I'm very sorry, but this sounds like something on your end.

If it was a Resolume problem, it would mean that not a single user can copy/paste clips or save their comp via shortcuts.

I'd start troubleshooting this by running a barebones Res session, without any scripts or external controllers or anything else running or connected. I'd be very surprised to hear that this problem still occurs on a regular setup.

If it turns out there is some incompatibility with a certain script or controller, we'll be happy to see if there's anything we can do about it.
