Hi All,

Greetings from Hong Kong! I am attempting a setup this evening using 4x projectors running off a Mac Pro (Trash Can). Basically I have 4 Display port to VGA adaptors. The system sees everything fine, so I have 4x 1280x800 displays all lined-up and a corresponding composition in Resolume Arena 5. I am projecting onto the inside of a cube so each projector corresponds to a face (No need edge blending)

I want to know the best approach to do this. Having never attempted anything other than a single output projection, I'm a little over whelmed at the options on advanced output. Wanted to ask if anyone has some tips?

I am using Resolume to simply trigger and synchronise pre-rendered clips. Nothing fancy. Is there another way to do this? i.e: Send and individual layer to each projector OR similar?

I hope my question is clear. Panicking a little! Any tips greatly appreicated.

I suggest you to route layers to each output. If your clips have the same aspect ratio than your projectors than the setup will be super easy.

If you create a 1280x800 comp with 4 layers and route one layer per projector, you'll only see the top layer in the UI but if you create a 5120x800 and locate each layer to occupy 1/4 of the comp you'll be able to see all the active clips in the UI

To offset layers, change the Position X values in the layer to the following:
Layer 1 (leftmost): -1920
Layer 2 (left): -640
Layer 3 (right): 640
Layer 4 (rightmost): 1920

In this type of configuration I usually force my layers to be width=1280 and height=800 but that's not necessary if all your artwork is 1280x800.

And I add a crop below the [Transform] so that the artwork doesn't spill over when you apply scaling effects. In the case you would set it to be at L=0 & R=0.25 for Layer 1, L=0.25 & R=0.50 for layer 2 etc..

Then in your advanced output, you can create four 1280x800 screens and position them at X=640, 1920, 3200 & 4480 so that they can be side by side.

That way you could easily duplicate Layers 1 through 4 as many time as you need and create transitions between your clips
