Playback jitter on MacBook Pro

Hey Resolume,

I am experiencing an issue on Resolume Arena 4 and 5 when playing back material on a MacBook Pro (purchased June 15) running Yosemite.

Resolume is generally working a dream on the laptop and handling all DXV material very well at HD Resolutions.

I have noticed an unusual thing though - when I scroll up and down through layers in the clips column both the Output Monitor and the actual output to any display I have connected experience a jitter or slowing down of the frame rate of the composition. It pauses for the moment I move the mouse up and down the layers. It seems to only effect the layers panel because if I scroll through the files panel or through clips effects, I don't experience this problem. It can be quite a big issue when scrolling between and selecting layers in a gig situation in terms of smooth playback. It is particularly noticeable on animations/motion graphics with an alpha channel, not so much with a plain video.

Here is the spec of the laptop:
2.5ghz Intel i7
16GB Ram
Solid state drive
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 M380X 2048 MB
Retina Display

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it a GPU issue?

I have heard there can be issues with the way the Retina screens can interact badly with GPU on Macs. I have turned off some of the processor hungry processes and this hasn't improved it.

Any ideas/insights much appreciated.

J
