converting dvd files to mpeg/mov

I just finished recording a 40 minute demo on dvd using a dvd recorder. This recorder puts some stupid default menu on the dvd. Now we'dd like to use the recorded file in iMovie, Final Cut of iDVD, so we can use the menus we've created ourselfs. Now we're looking for a program that can turn that dvd file into a file we can use in one of the mentioned programs. It doesn't mater if teh solution runs on windows or on macintosh.
If it is not possible to convert the file with the audio included it does not matter, It's our own produced music and we do have enough backup of that..

sorry for my english guys:D

a friend of mine told me that you can rename .vob files to.mpg or .mpeg (you´ll have to try) and then edit it with premiere pro 1.5 ! cool, isn´t it?

unfortunatly your using a mac, if you have access to a PC you could use a free program called DVDshrink, and that would let you save in as a few different formats, and then you would be able to use it on the mac.
