Resolume crash with iPad as display via "AirDisplay"

Hey All,

I haven't been able to find any thread to help so here goes. I want to connect an iPad Air to my New Mac Mini with El Capitan via USB and use it as a personal 2nd display monitor since I can't always see the projectors. I currently have successfully connected the iPad as a 2nd display with AirDisplay and Duet apps.

PROBLEM:
Resolume will stay open fine when I have my iPad as a display via USB paired with either Air Display or Duet apps PROVIDED I don't select ANY output display. If I select a display, either windowed or full screen the whole app crashes every single time without fail immediately upon selecting it. I've done all of the no brainer trouble shooting .
I would LOVE for this feature to work because I had to buy a 2nd 19 inch display and lug it to my first gig because I didn't realize this was going to be such a problem. Has anyone gotten this to work?

( I am running El Capitan on a new mac mini, receiving MIDI info from a second computer using Ableton.)

Thanks
VY

The combination of AirDisplay and Resolume is probably taxing your GPU which makes it crash.

To see what's on your other screens when you can see them, try this software: http://www.nominari.com/imultiviewer.html

I'll check it out, but it doesn't quite sound like the solution. I have a Mac Mini and one display is the projector for the audience (which I can't see during a live show because it's projected behind me.) So I need a small monitor close to me that shows me what is playing behind me. A 2nd monitor. An iPad is better than an actual computer monitor because that is bulky to travel with the amount of gear I already have. Unless the program you recommended will allow me to use an iPad then I don't think it will help me.

I'll check it out though, thanks.

Cheers,

The program I'm recommending will show you on your main display all your other displays. So based what you're describing it would work great for you. I believe it's free so there's no risk in trying it. Let me know if that works.

Res 5 uses a new windowing system for outputs. This was done so we could make all the new additions to the advanced output.

Apparently this new system broke output to USB displays like Duet and AirDisplay. Although we never officially supported these output methods, we did some work to improve the situation for the upcoming 5.0.2 release.

When that release rolls around, could you let us know if AirDispay and Duet work as expected again?
