How to make MPEG Streamclip work on newer versions of OS X

After lots of frustration I've found a solution to make MPEG Streamclip work on El Capitan (and probably other versions of OS X). Apple decided to get rid of the MPEG2 component that Streamclip uses to encode videos.
1. Download and extract:

2. Copy extracted file to /library/quicktime

I already have this one on my folder. Is this different than the one you've attached?

I've written a guide to supporting MPEG Streamclip in El Capitan and newer versions of Apple's OS X:
MPEG Streamclip DVD Fix
It includes pointers to where you can get the QuickTime component. Hope this helps!
