Help With Getting DMX to Work

I'm having real problems getting DMX working in Arena. Only sometimes does Resolume recognize my Enttec Open DMX controller, and it never actually triggers my lamps. I'm using chauvet slimpars, I'm quite sure their settings are correct as far as channels (start on 1, 7ch DMX).

Might be useful to add that only one program, LightKey, will activate and control my lamps. It requires me to put in my pw for authentication to open the DMX device, so that might be the trick. Anyone know what my problem is? I've tried running resolume via sudo but it won't work either.

I've always been told that Resolume officially supports the pro but the open should work. I do know some programs don't like the open. I would do a quick forum search to double check that.

Can you give me a breakdown of the channel assignment you made for your fixture file? Or attach it?
Are you in 7 or 3 CH mode for sure? Personally i'd just stick the device in 3ch mode as its a simple RGB fixture then. Why focus on macro, strobe and dimmer channels when you have that in resolume?

The fact Light key works, points to two good possibilities in my mind, maybe something in your fixture file or Resolume doesn't like the open like it likes the pro.

LightKey makes a big deal about supporting every crazy usb box on the market. Also it will have a proper fixture file for you.

Well according to this thread: viewtopic.php?t=12639

Enttec Open DMX controller is currently NOT supported. It will be recognized and will send out data to the controller, but the lamps won't trigger. Really a shame considering that the chipset of the open dmx is the most used/affordable in the world probably.

If any devs are reading this, I would be open to beta testing compatibility on OSX 10.11. Adding support for this chipset would open a lot of possibilities for a lot of users!
