Months of Work Erased?

I have a scary problem I hope people can help me with. I have a master composition I have been tweaking the last several months, and really working on the last few weeks. I have many effects saved in my composition level that are mapped to my OhmRGB. I've been really working on the effects and the mapping. I had low frame rate, so I went into preferences and clicked "Disable global effects" to see if it improved my frame rate. It didn't. I clicked the "Disable global effects" box off, and went back to my comp- and all my effects were gone. All of them. Comp is blank where they were. I reloaded the composition and they are still gone. I loaded a version from the same comp from last year ago and the effects were there. Why would Arena permanently erase my global effects if you disable global effects? I am not exaggerating to say this erases months of work. I have reloaded the comp over and over again and the effects have not come back. Any ideas? How do I get my work back? Why would Arena do this?
Just opened the midi mapping panel and all the midi mapping have been erased as well. Months of work gone.

did you save the composition with global effects disabled?
then you saved the composition without comp effects.
if not, is it possible you reloaded the wrong composition?
when was the last time you saved the composition?
any backup/copy? on mac Timemachine enabled?
I always wonder why people don't make backups of important work and data, anything can happen.
edit: and the midi mappings are not affected by the blend mode switch at all, so either you cleared the midi mappings, or you loaded the wrong composition, or didn't save the composition with the midi mappings in the first place.
if you mean the composition level midi mapped to the effects which were not saved, they are gone because they were not signed to anything when you saved the composition without the effects.

Your questions are all addressed in my actual post. Thanks?

As we figured out in the FB post on this issue, the problem was caused by Jinx75 saving the composition after removing all effects from the comp by disabling the Global Effects.
Disable Global Effects is one of those features that was a great idea 8 years ago, but now is a bit outdated and forgotten. It actually does remove all effects from the comp tab, so re-enabling it does not automatically bring the effects back, you first have to reload the comp via the recent files tab.
Resolume will never save over your comp until you explicitly hit save, but I can understand that in the heat of the moment, this unclear behaviour can result in the horrible situation that Jinx75's now is in.
We're most likely going to remove the toggle in a coming update, just to prevent stuff like this from happening.

Please don't remove this feature unless you can offer an alternative solution or go to 64-bit architecture as it is currently the best way to have Resolume handle very large compositions while retaining a workable FPS. Having the ability to select blend modes per composition by checking/unchecking in a menue would certainly be a great approach.
How about adding a pop-up warning window (the same type you get when you close your comp)?
The results where dramatic for Jinx75 but that's a great reminder everyone should have a good backup strategy and always keep multiple versions of files that can be restored especially when working on long-term key projects.

Oaktown,
An alternative that might work for you is removing files from the vfx folder. This should let you pick and choose just the ones you need.

Thanks DayVeeJay but unfortunately, I'm more interested in the ability to selectively disable blend modes at the composition level rather than the FFGL and VST plugins at the application level.
