After Effects and Spout: Resolume shows different content

Hello,

since 4 month I'm using Resolume having a lot of fun. Most of my topics I was able to solve using the search but maybe it's time to say hello and ask you about my current issue.

The output shown in AE is not the same than in Resolume and I'm wondering if there is a workaround for this. Also Spout receiver using the "wrong" content.
Star in AE using "Polar coordinates", "turbulent distortion" and inverted "polar coordinates"
Star in AE using "Polar coordinates", "turbulent distortion" and inverted "polar coordinates"
Star in Spout viewer
Star in Spout viewer
In Resolume I can switch between both versions in this example:
--> Blend mode "Add" shows the spout star and with "Add50" I can see the actual star as shown in AE
(this was not working with an older Version of Spout using the lowest layer "Layer 1")

Now we are coming the the actual topic:
IN AE I want to create an overlay of an clip and a cutted mandala picture with some transparent areas. The idea is to see the video only in the transparent part of the image. Again there is adifference in the output of AE and Spout which can be switched via selection of Add and Add50.
Cutted mandala with video in the middle and transparency outside
Cutted mandala with video in the middle and transparency outside
Mandala-AE.PNG (497.96 KiB) Viewed 5140 times
Spout output of mandala but with the video outside the mandala and pixel errors
Spout output of mandala but with the video outside the mandala and pixel errors

Please note the pixel errors on the left side which are not visible in AE or Photoshop. In Resolume they are visible using Add but not with Add50.

Unfortunately the workaround from above is not working because I want to put another video outside the mandala as background in resolume. This is only (??) working using an Add function because otherwise the background picture is mixed with the mandala in the middle.
Mandala including inside video and overlay by outside video
Mandala including inside video and overlay by outside video
(The picture with Add I will post below. Seems that 5 pics are the maximum)

Do you have any ideas how to solve this?
Is there a "feature" in Add50 looking for a 2nd layer in the video stream?
Is it possible thar there are a kind of hidden information which are not shown in the Spout viewer and "Add Mode" but with "Add50"?

Would be good to get an explanation about this :)

Thanks !

I think your issue comes from the way your AE mattes are interpreted in resolume. Take a look at this post which may help you.

if you're trying to achieve the look shown in your 4th picture in resolume, then switch the mandala layer to alpha blend.
add50 at 100% opacity behaves like an add with 50%.

The difference between your textures comes likely from the wrong alpha setting in the spout clip as Oaktown suggested.

Thanks for your quick reply :-D Up to now it looks good but sometimes while playing not as expected  I need to retry on sunday and understand this topic better.

But, great, for the moment I'm happy to have this 3 videos separated with the right overlay of the 2 pictures:
video123.PNG
Is it really needed to stamp the top video (mandala) with after effects or is it also possible with Resolume directly? This will save the AE channel for other ideas.
add50 at 100% opacity behaves like an add with 50%.
this makes sense, but for me it seams that with AR/spout it is a bit "more". In add mode the star from my 1st example is much bigger in add mode compared to add50. If I reduce the opacity in add mode to 30% you can clearly see the difference scale.

Maybe one additional question. Is it possible to switch the spout channel to the same view I got in Resolume with the Alpha type "straigt"? Spout has still the big star without lines.

Kind regards
