I'm also thinking this is something gaming related, added by your GPU driver or an add-on utility running on your computer.

Recently, some laptops have started shipping with "sound enhancement utilities" for games. These utilities will try to overlay a "minimap" on your game. This minimap will show where your enemies are in the game, based on the sound that they make. The enhancement is not part of the actual game, but overlayed on top of every game.

Resolume uses OpenGL as most games do, so the enhancement will try to find enemies in Resolume as well. This causes crashes on MSI and ASUS laptops, and can be prevented by uninstalling Nahimic (MSI) and Sound Suite (ASUS).

Maybe you have a new sound utility that doesn't crash, but still makes the stupid overlay?

I've looked into my GeForce experience settings, and found it.

GeForce experience -> settings -> turn "share" off.

It will disable overlay.
