It is possible to capture and record an iOS device with QuickTime through a lightning cable natively.
I would like to capture as a live input through lightning in Arena. How can I implement this without 3rd party software like airBeam or capture cards.
Lightning cable to QuickTime offers very little latency.

I guess I could create a QC file for this.

Another solution could be using syphon:
download the ipCam (or any other cell phone to ip camera app) and then check around for an ip cam to syphon app thats floating around. then you can add that cam into your comp using a syphon source. fps will vary on your wifi connection (not for use with broadband service).

I could just use airBeam to go straight into Arena as an input wirelessly. I am trying to achieve it through the lightning cable.

I couldn't get this to work in quartz composer. The Video device in module will not see the iPhone like QuickTime does via lightning cable.

That is something I've never tried. Might have to find a way to make osx recognise it as a live input source or camera before Resolume will recognise it?? Good luck with that, Please let me know if you make it work, seems very interesting.

if you can get an image in quicktime you could use Syphoner to grab the picture to syphon, then use that syphon source in resolume

I got a working solution together with ScreenCaptureSyphon to achieve a connection with a Apple TV or iPhone. But for my needs it is still to much lag compared to the feed that goes straight to Quicktime. Are there no plans to implement an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV as a source? Or is it impossible to achieve? I would use it in many cases...
