Hickup With some Video Clips

Hello All,

I've put my question in video format on youtube so you can see exactly what I'm talking about.

I purchased a Resolume Clip called Botik DXV3 1080P . I play it through Quicktime it looks great, I play it through Resolume as 1 layer, slight hickup. I add layers and it gets downright choppy. I have Fast Graphics Switching set to off on my mac but you'll see Resolume is still using my Intel graphics card, not the Nvidia (higher end graphics card in my machine). Is Resolume only capable of using 1 card, and only the Intel not the High performance card? My machine is a Mid 2012 2.7GHZ core i7.

Will my issue go away if I move to a MacPro (black tower)?

Thanks in Advance
George

check out https://gfx.io/ for gfxCardStatus
with it you can force the use of the dedicated or integrated graphics, and see which one the os uses.
Maybe the graphics switching has a problem in Sierra?

btw on my 2012 mbp with nvidia I don't have to switch anything to have resolume use the dedicated card, and I have automatic graphics switching enabled. (El Capitan)

Same here, I use gfxCardStatus to check the status of my GPU but dynamic switching is always on and I've never had any issues.

Your laptop is getting pretty old so you also may want to run the Hardware Test to make sure your graphics card still works properly: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257
