Projector Stand Suggestions?

Hey, all!
Over the past 8 months or so, I've been utilizing this projector mount build from VJ Kung Fu (found here http://vjkungfu.tv/archive/build-projector-mount/). This has proven to be an amazing tool at a lot of different venues and I highly recommend it if you are in need of a setup that can handle most scenarios. However, I have more recently found that I sometimes have to sacrifice my pitch in order to utilize the most stable mounting location. In order to combat this, I have been looking into purchasing a stand on which it can attach for venues that either don't have a good location for ceiling mounting or is too large for my cable setup.
I have been looking at some microphone stands, cymbal stands with boom, etc. trying to figure out what the most stable and cost-effective route would be. I don't know honestly know what I should be looking for. It just needs to be a very strong, heavy pole with a reliable base. I would really like the ability to adjust up to 8'-10' and be able to be stable at those heights with a 20lb. (9.1kg) mount attached to the very top. I'm no stranger to DIY, either, so if you have recommendations that would require some work on my end, feel free to suggest those as well! I would like to keep this project under $200 USD.
Thanks!
