deck slider control by touch screen or midi controller slider

I'm using a PC laptop with a touchscreen.
It's great fun for loading clips from the deck while playing live.
However i often find it difficult to control the slider along the bottom of the deck because it's a little too thin to easily grab with the fingers.
Is there any easier way to control it, other than by using the trackpad which can be a bit fiddly?

It would be good if it was possible to either:
assign a midi controller (slider) to it,
or make it fatter so it was easy to move with the finger.

Is this possible?
Thanks, peeps! :)

You could try to use the layer MIDI move map. Downside is it will immediately trigger the clip you are cycling through.

Using OSC you could try specifying a Preview clip value, but you would have to set manually increments of (for example) 12 clips (unless some other more clever individuals here could scrip it).

/layer1/clip1/preview
/layer1/clip12/preview
/layer1/clip24/preview etc.

Hi theLABVisuals,

thanks again for your clever insights :)
the coffee is obviously working! ;)

i tried the layer MIDI move arrow as you suggested (i hadn't noticed that before!), and it did work, but as you say it was loading up clips as i scrolled through which wasn't ideal.
So i decided to go with your other suggestion using MIDI mapping to my MIDI controller buttons (i've never used OSC & the midi works fine).
So i've assigned a row of buttons on my midi controller to the preview of clips at regular intervals in my deck.
It works great!

Thanks so much for helping me out,
Suzybee :D
