I rather have my FX applied to selected layer instead of channel. Preparing an effect takes an inactive layer anyway? Or am I wrong I is there a possibility to select a channel without activation it? (Tried alt, ctrl, shift selection which doesn't result in this)

My main argument for this would be that applying another fx on an already running clip is often rather difficult, cause you can't see in which deck it is. Perhaps a nummer within the layer would make this eassier, but I don't see why applying the effect to the layer instead of a channel would be a problem. But that's perhaps because of my workflow.

Also stacking 2 channel fx would be great, but this probably makes the workflow less transparent. Often use colorwarp to correct colors to the colors used by lightjockey. But this only allows fx through general fx. Perhaps a color fx should be a 'standard' fx within the layers?

running multiple effects are quite hard to do... but there can be some standart effects for each layer outputs as u mentioned... f. ex: deinterlace is also another important standart effect if you have mixed clips...
