Hi!

As you can see in the image attached, somehow I cannot midi map the opacity of the Layer 2, together with some other parameters of Layer 2. Why is that?

In the bottom left, change the focus from layer to deck :)

I am now trying to control the "position Y" from a clip with the midi controller, but so far I have seen that if I apply a controller to this parameter, it is actually affecting all clips, and not just one.

Is there a way to apply a controller to a parameter of a unique clip?

Are you adjusting the "Position X" of the layer or the clip?

I dont see how this is relevant, but the answer is no. Anyway, If I would be, the problem would be the same: by trying to control the position X of the clip with a midi controller, I would be controlling the position x of all clips. how can I control the position x, or y of only one clip?

Select or preview the clip you want to use as a target, go to Mapping>Edit Composition MIDI Map, select "Position X" in the Clip, send your MIDI note, go to Mapping>Stop Mapping and you should be good to go.

Repeat the procedure if you want to set the "Position X" for more than one clip.

A couple of notes:
  • 1)The MIDI assignments will follow the clip so if you move the clip to another location in your comp, the MIDI mapping will stay with the clip.

    2) If you copy the clip, all MIDI assignments specific to that clip will be copied as well.
