Hi. Firstly im not a Resolume user (yet). So please forgive my ignorance.
For a permanent setup in a (TV)studio facility we're looking to install a 3-4 1920*1080 screen vidiwall.
There's quite a lot of computer hardware already in use and we're considering re-using one of the sets for Resolume. At the moment the options are either a 2009(?) MacPro, dual quad-core 2.26 with 2x Decklink duo or a fairly recent Windows PC with a GTX660 and Datapath X4.
The advantage of the Mac is that its all HD-SDI out and will integrate seamlessly with the studio's BM Videohub infrastructure. My worry is that Resolume works on GPU processing right? So the internal videocard will have to process the main composition and the decklink cards will simply spit out the slices?
If we go with the PC then we'll possibly use the datapath X4 which was bought for vidiwall duties and has always split a single 1920*1080 feed from a videomixer.
If i understand correctly dual link DVI has a max resolution of 2560 x 1600. While the Datapath X4 claims to be able to handle 4K input?
Based on user experience is it wiser to output a single high resolution feed to the likes of the X4 or try to add another videocard to the PC and output 4 discrete 1920 feeds?
