Is it possible to change the mask preset from Luminance to Alpha?
I mostly use png with Alpha channel as my masks. But the default setting is set to the Luminance channel of a image and i want to use the Alpha channel by default. This so i can just drag an drop my masks without thinking about it.

is there a xml file i can edit?
it would be nice to have this option by the application defaults.

We don't have an option to set the default for masks, but it is a good suggestion. I'll share it with the team.
