hi people...
i wanna check how one channel (1234 qwert asdfg zxcv) will look with any efftect before anybody else(the only way i know how to do it is live,and usually it gets me time until i get the right effect or the right transition(luma,alpha,lighten,daarken ,etc)..
if the djs can listen the next song they are going to play ,without stopping or mixing the musica, how can i do that w resolume? can i?----there is no preview for the files??

( i know there is a preview,but works only in the browser,withe the original media clip, not on the channels or layers...)

also ,how can i send an effect to a channel or to the global fx layer, with the effect turned off...
in the manual it says you have to press alt and drag the effect---
but it always drags the same effect---and it always drags it on the effct global layer...
i know i doin something wrong here (is it because the effetc shorcut??)


and 3 more quest:
RGB channels can be changed by a shortcut?
can i activate desactivate a layer with a shorcut?
what is usually the lenght of your clips ?i got clips really long(like 2 minutes,is that too long? how big can the clips be?is a .avi cinepack
800x600 400MB too big for resolume?shoud i cut this clips?

Ciao,at first i thought it would have been be nice beeing able to preview a single channel, with or witout an efx applied but in the end what we deliver is a mix so what's the point of previewing something which in turn will be subject to further processing?

RGB channels can be toggled by sending them a midi note. Go to preferences/midi mapping/other notes/toggle RGB blah blah blah. I guess this implies you are using a midi controller but i thing it would be good beeing able to assigne them to a simple keyboard shortcut. Correct me if i'm wrong.

You can activate/deactivate a layer or a global efx slot by keyboard or midi note (i would like the same for RGB channels on/off toggle). Go to preferences/midi mapping/other notes/Activate ... or preferences/keyboard mapping/other keys/Activate ...

My clips are 320x240, Indeo 5.11, 1 keyframe each frame, 10 s to one min long.
I'd love to use higher resolutions but the avilable clips at the moment are only 320x240. On the other hand i must say that this resolution gives you a decent performance/quality ratio. I doubt that using 800x600 you'll be able to deliver a smooth mix but maybe i'm wrong. Let me know if u get decent results.

Reply to myself ... let'say we are delivering a mix of layer 2 + 3. Let's say the music is changing and we want to folow with a completely different scene so we have to fade out layer 2 + 3 and fade in layer 1. In this case it would have been nice to be able to preview layer one or channel x. Just to make it clear to myself....

so 800x600 is too big for resolume? will it make resolume crash or the clip to be ralentized?
i use avi cinepack and .mov sorenson3 ,and usually at 800x600
--..some clips works some doesnt

i dont use midi,just the laptop,so it ll be great to make a keyboard shorcut for rgb
..too bad there is no shorcut for rgb channels

still i wanna see preview channels...not working

also i know there are shorcut to send effects to global effects----but it looks like ti doesnt save my changes and all the time i press one shorcut effect key it always sends the effect in the global effect in the same way (for example ascII artt has too effect size,i wanna it lower, so i have to make the effect lower live,wich looks really bad....(i wanna fade in not fade out the effec)
so once i take the effect out and the take it in it doesnt save that changes i made before...
i hope you get what i wrote...
