hi guys,

i'd like to begin readying a bunch of content i have on DVD for use in resolume...what's the best way?

i was thinking about finding a small VOB/MPG --> AVI transcoder, and doing it that way - any hints? tips? tricks? tried & true methods? i've got *tons* of stuff and i've love to automate as much of this as possible.

thanks!

What I use to do this is a free program called mpeg mediator. It can convert an entire dvd or single vob files to avi, even directly to mjpeg if you like (however an entire dvd you're looking at about a 40 gb mjpeg file) It's best to cotnvert individual vob files, then take it into premiere or something and cut out the clips you want to use. As far as automation, well prepping clips is a very time consuming process - best of luck to ya.

VirtualDubMod will read MPEG2 or VOB files directly. You can mark out clips within a VOB (DVD video) file, and process them in a single batch process.
