I am curious to see what kind of setups are being built and run for gigs so lets see them!
Sorry no laptops only desktop/rack mount setups
Photos and detailed specs would be nice!

What if the laptop is more powerful than a rack mount setup?

Sent you a PM with the build since he wants to keep this to a rackmount only thread.
The laptop I spec'd you was cheaper, much more mobile, and contained the same hardware I was going to build in my own rackmount. Just made sense

Currently in Laptops:
Overclocked i7-7820HK (3.9Ghz/4.3Ghz)
HM175 Chipset
32GB DDR4 2667Mhz Ram
2TB m.2 PCIe SSD
8GB GTX1080
4K Touch Screen
Thunderbolt 3
0.88” Thin
7.7lbs
Comes out to about $4,000.
I spec'ed the same machine as a Rackmount and it was closer to $6,000.
The thing about Rackmounts are: They get eaten alive by Semi's. After each load-in, You'll want to open your cases up and check the PCIe cards, and the CPU/CPU-Heatsink. These will love to come unseated.
With a Laptop, you know it's going to be in the same state you left it.
Thing about Laptops are: You are very limited to your future expansion options. With external PCIe chasis (via TB3) you can kind of cheat this, but now you're dealing with system stability at that point.
Each system has it's own place.
In my opinion, the majority of Resolume users only use 1-2 screen outputs, and only need 1-2 inputs. A Laptop can handle this, and for a much cheaper price than a Rackmount. And it's easy to travel with.
If you start stepping into the large festival setups, and large corporate setups, you will need more room for expansion. This is where your Rackmounts come into play.
I like the cooling system on your rig.
How often does it travel? Have you used Watercooling on touring rigs before?

Nice! 0.88" thin is surprising! Definitely easier to travel with lol.
With it overclocked how is it on stability and heat?
I thought about going with a rack mount case but I wouldn't have been able to get the cooling system I have now. Also It would be a pain to use at home and unmounting it from the rack would be stupid. This travels in my pelican 1630 case with all the needed accessories and my 28" monitor. I set it up with a few inches of foam around the computer so its got decent protection.
Thanks its the Corsair H105, 240mm radiator with dual 120mm fans. I have the 280mm version in my home computer and its been good so far. Best part is its a sealed system from the factory so less chances of leaking (still a chance but less). This setup so far has been traveling 1-2 times a month either in the back of my pickup or the work box truck. Just recently started with the whole VJ addition to our company after we purchased the LED panels so not much touring done with this, YET. Were a pretty small team and the guys know whats in it so they tend to be a bit more careful with it.

We want to buy comp for Resolume :
Motherboard MSI Z370 SLI PLUS
Intel Core i7-8700K OEM
Cooler DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300
SSD Samsung 860 EVO [MZ-76E250BW] 250GB for system
M.2 Samsung 960 EVO [MZ-V6E500BW] 500GB for video files
HDD Hitachi Ultrastar 7K2 [HUS722T1TALA604] for archive
Power Supply Aerocool KCAS-700W [KCAS-700W]
UI Monitor AOC I2369V/01
4U Rack case STM-PR4U-139L
And still have not decided what the videocard to buy: gtx1080 or gtx1070. Which of them should we choose (price/performance)? For up to 3 LED screens
