Can you map a key to move up a layer?

Rather than mapping a midi key to a specific layer, is it possible to just be able to hit an arrow key on my midi controller and have Resolume focus on the layer above/below the currently selected layer?

This is currently not possible.

Oh, interesting. Is there currently any way at all for me to select a layer that I don't have specifically mapped without touching the laptop?

I'm having a difficult time figuring out how Resolume wants me to work. For example, I've got a mix of video clips that I'd want to play by themselves with the visibility and audio all the way up, I've got some clips with alphas that need a particular blending mode, and I've got clips that should be blended on various other modes. Since the layer properties are persistent from tab to tab, I'd need all of those things on different layers even if they aren't in the same tab. So Resolume seems to "want" me to use quite a few layers, but moving up and down between layers isn't made very easy. Am I missing something? I've been trying to figure out some best practices without much luck so far.

how many layers do you use?

You can set clips individually to be played with a specific layer blending mode in the clip's Video track properties:
