About the process and display resolution, is there a relation between them?
For example, if you use the 640x480 output display res. the best size for the footages are 320x240 and 640x480 and if they are 400x300 it's better to use 800x600 output?
I mean, does the 2x exact proportion between process and display res. makes the processing faster?

there is no relation beteeen the 2 as you describe it. What is most importand that you always set the process-resolution to the resolution of the footage yuo are using. so if your video clips are 400x300 you should also set the process resolution to 400x300.

Resolume then takes this resolution imagery and scales it to the output resolution on the videocard using tri-linear hardware scaling if your videocard supports it. (most videocards do this) This way we get the best image quality AND speed.

For those of us who use "theatre mode" or "dvdmax mode":

1. Does the output display resolution effect the output of these modes?

2. Do these modes actually use tri-linear hardware scaling?

3. Would you recommend using these modes or the traditional dual-monitor full screen scaling, for optimal preformance?

1 : yes, the dvdmax overlay will be created with the size of the display resolution.
2 : yes it does, it does look very smooth
3 : i would allways go for the traditional dual screen setup, performance is much better, we implemented the dvdmax thing especially so that you could keep a copy of the output as a preview in earlier versions of resolume. And the dvdmax had some extra benefits wich improved quality of the image....
