Quite a while back I retired from VJ'ing because I basically got sick of it so when I got back into it, promised myself I wouldn't go ballistic.

Kept the promise until this week.

3 gigs at 3 different venues for 3 different promoters for 3 times the pay and working on Monday (queens holiday) doing whatever the hell it is i do in my day job which is completely unrelated to computers and media.

am i nuts ? would you do it ? have you done it ? how did you feel ?

I'm scared that i'm only doing it for the $$$$ and not enjoying it like I used to anyone else feel the same or am i just weird ?

there is a fine line between doing it cause you want to, and because you have to...

if you need the money then do it... its a skill that you have, if you are are good at say banking, but are bored, you would still do it to live and find other areas that you do for fun.
you could also try some new things to try and make it more interesting, try new free frame effects, try giving yourself limits for a period of time, such as only using a particular colour and using effects to get all your material to that colour. maybe start using other peoples material, there is alot on the net and it might get you thinking different ways about your style etc.

Levon, I must be the luckiest son of a B@tch !

Work for Monday (today) has been cancelled, which means i'm going to sleep for 24 hours STRAIGHT.

We just finished our 3rd straight gig and we're relieved it's all over !

I Must admit i feel very satisfied at the moment but still question this whole weekend V.J lifestyle.

I know the feeling same weekend I giged from thursday right through to sunday night, thurs commercial dance, friday big international, sat house and breaks sunday rNb and monday morning I was loosing the plot

Just finished doing 2 gigs at once (same night). I had to set up the projectors early in the day, and then moved my gear after the first performance. Lucily my wife and I vj as a team, so there was 2 of us to pull this off. I won't try it agian untill I get another lappy.
