Hi Folks,
i got a little question.
Is there any way to get the Output of resolume into a nice webstream ?
Has anybody some ideas? Btw. i don't want to use extra hardware. It would be cool if a sollution like patchbox or something like that would work.
Greets and Thanx

I've tried doing this before - the biggest issue is bandwidth. You need killer bandwidth! The more people you expect to be viewing, the more bandwidth you need. A standard dsl or cable modem won't do the trick - it would be best to be right next to a big ass server...
You need a dedicated computer with a capture card and windows media server installed. Output your full screen into the capture card and use it as your source for the media server program. What I did to get this to work, was I streamed it as a single stream from the club to my friends big ass server in new york over a cable modem. He then outputted his recieving end to full screen and into another computer with capture card/ media server - and streamed it out over a big fat pipeline. Remember you need HUGE bandwidth for more than one viewer to be able to watch this!!!! Even over a big fat server (this server hosts over 200 web sites) we maxed out at about 50 simultaneous viewers. It's all about the bandwidth....
Hope this helps...

Hmm, the bandwith is not the problem for me, i got 2 big dedicatet webservers, both of them allready "streaming"-ready.
The problem for me how to grab the output and stream. We dont want to use capture-card or something like that. A nice tool which streams the output would be cool. Something like (Real)VLC.

As far as I know you will need a dedicated box - simply because while resolume is running it takes up all your processor power - brings it to %100 even if not using it all for reasons explained in other posts. You need a significant amount of processor power to compress and stream the video. Trying to run two processor intensive programs at once is just not a good idea, and I can almost garantee you will have significant frame loss. This has been discussed before, and this was barts response:

well, than i'll play around with this hardware-setup :
VGA -> VGA-Splitter -> VGA2Video Converter -> Capturecard -> Stream.
I don't like this setup but i think it is the best way.
I think i'll use the pc i use for my sms stuff to stream, so i can avoid a new pc *g*

The question about what can i answer now

we use Rabidhamster R4 on one 2,2ghz pc, Winamp AVS with Patchbox on an 1ghz laptop (which allso controls R4), Resolume for mixing ( 3,6ghz. Laptop ), MiniDV over a Wireless-AV-Setup, Usb-Cam for pix of the vj-stage, and i use my laptop ( 750mhz ) to create live-input ( sms, ... ) in flash.
Nice and funny mixture...
