Controlling individual DMX channel values with MIDI/keyboard shortcuts?

Hello esteemed Resolume community,

I have a really simple strobe light that has two DMX channels – one for brightness and one for strobe speed. It makes sense to convert the brightness of a clip to control brightness, but I'd ideally like to have a knob on my midi controller control the strobe. (See image).

Have any of you tried to do something similar? Or am I thinking about this all wrong?

OK, I might've answered my own question – I can use the 'checkered' source to create two areas on the screen where I can control the color parameter with MIDI. The left side is brightness and the right side is strobe speed.

You got the right idea, I would create (2) 1 channel DMX fixtures with both fixture channels sets to luminance.
Create a new layer and black it out and then in advance help put create your DMX lumina verse with his two fixtures. From there, select your input to be the layer you just blocked out and then put your first fixture on the left side and your second fixture on the right side. From there, maybe put on to crop effects on a solid white color. Split the crop effects down the middle sew one effect blocks out one side and the other affect blacks out the other side. From there you can midi map via Pasadena of those effects in essentially use it as a dimmer channel.
