I installed Alley yesterday, and since then I after effects 2018 constantly crashes. I tried resetting the preferences and reinstalling AE but it still crashes.
So my conclusion is that I have to uninstall Alley and DXV3, however I cannot find any uninstallers or guides on which files I need to remove. It would be nice to have some kind of guide or documentation on this!

Alley puts the DXV codecs into C:/Program Files/Adobe/common/plug-ins/[someVersion]/MediaCore/Resolume DXV
You can remove them from this path if you'd like.
Did you get an error message trying to install Alley, saying it can't write the adobe plugins?
If so, try exiting all adobe apps, and try reinstalling Alley to fix the plugin files.

Thank you for your fast reply. I found the path itself in OSX Sierra (10.12.6).
I already removed the DXV file from the /library/quicktime folder, I also see the file "ResolumeQuickLook.qlgenerator" in the /library/quicklook folder. I also removed some other Alley files I could find spread out over the computer, maybe an uninstaller app would be useful for these hard to find files.
So I did all of this restarted the computer and AE still crashed. I uninstalled AE a few times, using the adobe cleaner tool. After that I completely removed every trace of every adobe app I have on this workdisk, and will attempt to install it all again tomorrow to see if it works again.
The weird thing is only AE 2018 crashed, the 2015 version and every other app like media encoder and premiere worked fine. I think I will skip installing the Alley program and just do a complete Resolume install, this is a new SSD I'm working on so it's missing some programs.

On mac the files are in
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/common/plug-ins/[versions]/MediaCore/Resolume DXV
Reinstalling Resolume should also fix the plugin, as they are reinstalled, together with Alley.
Make sure to exit Adobe apps when installing.
