"Archival" codec?

Hi,

Apologies if this topic has already been covered elsewhere, please direct me if so!

I'm wondering if I should keep a copy of my animations in another format other than DXV for future reworking or re-encoding should DXV be superseded / improved, I adore the quality and speed of DXV but appreciate it does loose some fidelity.

Interested to know other peoples workflow here...

Thanks,

I just put all of my files into a cloud storage, and then keep a local copy of what I use on my day to day. This way nothing is lost, and when I need an older clip, I can just right click it and download it from the cloud. No conversions needed.

Thanks, so are you storing in DXV, or un compressed?

I store the first render on prores, then encoded to dxv.
