Calculating Video Resolution

Hello Guys,
I have a thing that everytime makes me goes crazy.
For example, i have a 18 Meters X 5 Meters round surface to project, and i'll use 3 projectors 1280 X 800 native resolution. It's like a big cylinder, and i'll project from inside.
My question is: How can i calculate the resolution for the video content to create?

How many pixels of overlap will you have on the blends?

I just doesn't care about blend overlaps, etc. In real world your projectors can be aligned a bit differrent, there can be differrent distances between them and projection surface, so you never make pixel-to-pixel content.

So, I get pixel/meter value and then just multiply meters to this value.

If you make panorama 18x5, projectors with 1280x800 native resolution, then 800px/5m = 160px/m. So, resolution will be 18m*160px/m = 2880px x 800px.

You can take 1280px*3/18m as base, but it's not necessary. Because even 2880 x 800 will be a bit bigger resolution, than you get as result.

In this example, since you're doing projections on the cylinder, you would calculate the blend overlap width as follows:

((1280*3)-2880)/3=320

Since you would have three blend areas.

For a regular screen, you would divide by two which would be the number of Projectors -1
