4k Capture Device no input signal

For use during live streaming, we bought a Elgato Cam Link 4k capture card, to use as live source in Resolume 7. The capture card shows up in the sources panel instantly, but when dragged into a layer, you can't. We also use a webcam as video source, which works fine.

The capture card works fine in app's like OBS and the windows camera app, only Resolume seems to have issues.

The elgato software that came with the capture card says that it receives a 4k signal, white the video input is only 1920x1080.

Any Camlink users that encountered the same issues?

Hi Bart

I've just hit this exact same problem - did you find a solution?

OK, well I've worked around it.

I'm using Panasonic Lumix GH5 and GH5(S)s. Largely in response to the pandemic and all those Zoom sessions, Panasonic (and also other camera manufacturers, I believe) have recently made available software to enable users to use their cameras as webcams. In Panasonic's case this is at:https://www.panasonic.com/global/consum ... tware.html

I installed this. Connected the GH5(S) directly to my PC via the USB cable which came with the camera - i.e I'm no longer connecting with the CamLink. This works - Resolume Avenue (7.3.0) now sees LUMIX Webcam Software as a Source, which I can drop into a spare slot and play with just like any other Source.

What I don't know yet is whether this set-up will support multiple GH5s. I'm guessing not. So a fix to the CamLink problem would be very useful - otherwise it's pretty well redundant, as far as I'm concerned.

Could you share a screenshot of how the camlink's clip panel, (especially the Video section folded down) looks in Resolume?
Thanks!

Hi Zoltan

I'm not quite sure what you're after, but attached are two screen prints:

1. Resolume screen showing Cam Link 4K and Lumix Webcam Software listed as Sources. Now that I've loaded the Panasonic software, the Lumix software is always visible, whether or not I have a camera attached. (as a side comment, this is actually quite handy when I'm laying out columns/layers for a performance.

The Cam Link option only appears when I connect the Cam Link (and camera) - which is the case in this screen print. The issue is that I can click and try dragging the Cam Link 4K Source to an empty column/layer, but nothing appears in that slot.

2. Vegas Capture screen to prove that the hardware etc. is OK - i.e. you can see an image (from my camera, via Cam Link) under video sources.

Thanks for the shots!
Sounds like something goes wrong trying to load the camera driver.
Could you please send us the Resolume log file via the feedback tab in preferences, after trying to load the source?
Maybe it has something related logged.
Thanks!

Hi Zoltan - I've sent you a couple of log files, as requested.

I'd be willing to lend you me Cam Link if necessary.

John

I did workaround and this "cam link 4k" is working for me.
Just download from drivers for "Game Capture HD". Use them for "cam link 4k" and set for examle 1080p60 on input device. Not 4K, but works :)
