I have the same problem... I tried out all the stuff I found on the web (At least, 5 different solutions) and in the manuals. But haven't found anything that solve the problem.

My presario is a 2562 model, with an ATI Radeon IGP 345M.

I CAN'T USE THE S-VIDEO OUTPUT!! Somebody has any idea?

Greetings,
First thing plug your laptop output into a television. ATI sometimes has a special set of settings for the video card, usually found in the display properties menu. Set the secondary output to be the S-video instead of the secondary VGA output at about 800x600 and you should be golden.
I have that option but don't go that rout myself. I run VGA to a small scan converter called TV Gold, which gives me S, Composite, and control over the image. I can move it, or adjust the settings if I have issues with projection. It works pretty well, and I get the option of S or composite.
