Native support new Apple M1 Max chips

I know it’s a bit early but will Resolume software be optimized to use the new Apple M1 Max chips with 32 cores and 64GB RAM?

We are almost there regarding the ARM build of our products. We have test builds running and it looks promising, but we will only release it when we think it is ready.
The new Apple M1 Max sure looks promising and fast, it also has ProRes encoding/decoding chips and that is also a great plus. Rest assured we'll have a ARM build, but please give use some time to get it right.

hello!

I couldn't find any new threads relating to this...

I'm in a situation where I have to decide whether to switch to alienware/razr for the GPU power and deal with learning windows or go m1. I'm sure its not that hard but rather avoid it if I can get the same kind of gpu power from macs ecosystem.

Is there an estimation on that new arm build for m1 processors?

Also, has anyone seen or done benchmarks comparing m1 or m1x vs the higher quality vid cards like the 3080?

16" M1 Max 32GB -

Files were duplicates of the original set of 20. so each layer had it's own source. after 60 layers I just duplicated a group of 10 layers- so not a true file count test- but got:

4k noise
36 layers @ 60FPS
85 layers @ 30 fps

4k clean
45 layers @60 fps
102 layers @ 30 fps



My 3yro Thinkpad p72 Xeon E-2186M 64gb, with a Quadro p5200 max-q 16gb (~1070-1080 gtx equivalent) did:
14 noise layers 4k @60
19 noise layers at 47fps
20 noise layers at 27fps - huge drop between 19 and 20

also, here are some comparisons rendering some clips from AME

Macbook
Video: 5690x2488 (1.0), 30 fps, Progressive, 100 (63% HLG, 51% PQ), Software Encoding, 00:09:59:17
- Audio: AAC, 320 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
- Bitrate: VBR, 1 pass, Target 10.00 Mbps, Max 12.00 Mbps
- Encoding Time: 01:48:19

Thinkpad
- Video: 5690x2488 (1.0), 30 fps, Progressive, 100 (63% HLG, 51% PQ), Software Encoding, 00:09:59:17
- Audio: AAC, 320 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
- Bitrate: VBR, 1 pass, Target 10.00 Mbps, Max 12.00 Mbps
- Encoding Time: 02:42:38

Macbook
- Video: 1920x1080 (1.0), 29.97 fps, Progressive, 203 (75% HLG, 58% PQ), Hardware Encoding, 00;16;01;25
- Audio: AAC, 128 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
- Bitrate: VBR, 1 pass, Target 8.00 Mbps
- Encoding Time: 00:04:09

Thinkpad
Video: 1920x1080 (1.0), 29.97 fps, Progressive, 203 (75% HLG, 58% PQ), Hardware Encoding, 00;16;01;25
- Audio: AAC, 128 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
- Bitrate: VBR, 1 pass, Target 8.00 Mbps

Did you have an external output enabled with the Resolume FPS test?

Yeah I checked that Advanced output had a simple slice sent to a 4k 60 secondary display.
