Hi, I know of autopilot and using random with that. But I’m looking for a way to midi/key map a button to trigger a random clip in a layer, or column trigger. It would be great if this was added, perhaps beside the next/previous buttons that already exist under layer transition time slider on each channel.

I have found one sort of workaround, and that is to add a blank clip, and midi map to trigger that clip, reduce transport time of the clip to the shortest amount and then have transition out of that clip trigger random next clip. But this momentarily will trigger a “black” clip, so I can’t do a random trigger with a nice fade in between the 2 clips. Only a fade in to black, then fade out of black. If that makes sense.

Is there another solution to this I’m not thinking of?

I've built this out in Wire for a friend in the past. It's not too hard, do you think you could build something similar out yourself?
