multiple video-in with one pci-card

To become a serious resolume user i want to buy a serious resolume system.
I know that (please correct me if i'm wrong) HD speed = essential, ram = less important, CPU POWER = MOST ESSENTIAL, video = less important....
anyway..
I want to add a composite input card with two or more inputs which i can use in reslume. AVermedia for example has such a card (complete double setup on one pci card), im sure there are more.
Does anyone know if such a card will work... since both inputs are build on the same chipset (one pci card though).

or: any recomendations about brands and types for multiple inputs?

another question.... INTEL or AMD?
