Shared playhead time

Hey All

We do a lot with projection mapping where we have multiple clips on different layers to different outputs/ slices which are played back at the same time. Which works great.

But really need the ability to lock all clips playhead to a master clip (or layer 1 clip) so we can scrub through the show to a certain point or pause the show at a specific point to make adjustments etc.

Like a internal timecode but references a specific clips playhead time

Can clarify further if needed

Thanks

Map each layers current clips playhead to your comps dashboard dial (1-8) and then use that as your scrubber.

Have thought of that but how are you able to link it to the dial, the usual click and drag won’t work for the timeline of clips.

What’s the method?

You would map all the playheads to the same MIDI channel as well as your dashboard dial (don't even need the dial)

That will work with clips with the same duration.

Will be interesting to have something like SMPTE3, which refer to some selectable layer playhead time.

You will have to have an external midi source to make it assignable.

Would be great if the transport could be controlled like every other parameter (with envelopes etc)

The method above is just sending a 0-1 float, regardless of the durations it will start and end the clips when the float value is at 0 or 1.

if you want to map an internal slider (float) to control this, you will need global parameters (give that a +1 in the feature request page)
