My setup is as follows: MacBook Pro running SoundSwitch, Serato DJ Pro and MixEmergency, second MacBook Pro running Resolume Avenue, Roland DJ-505, Control One, Novation Launch Control and Akai APC APC mini. I am unable to get Resolume to sync to Serato using Link or MIDI out from the DJ-505.

I have tried all startup combinations and Sync/Link buttons on the DJ-505 without getting any reliable results.

Anybody have a clear workflow to get this to work?

Does Ableton Link provide the tempo to Resolume?

Yes Ableton and Resolume work perfectly with LINK enabled.

I cannot get the simplest configuration of Serato and Resolume to work properly.

I think what happens for you is that Serato simply ignores the beat grid.
If you get the tempo, into Resolume, that's great, but the beat grid won't probably match.

Sadly it seems the problem is with Resolume - I can never get the tempo to update Serato->Resolume only the other way around. Serato Link works fine with other software. I have found a work around of sorts so not the end of the world.

So if you start Ableton on one of the machines, does that follow the Serato tempo, while Resolume does not?
Can you make a recording of this, so we can see your settings in Ableton and Resolume?
