Timeline playback issue

New to Resolume, running Arena 7 on a 2019 Mac Pro tower. When a clip is selected with timeline mode on, it refuses to play. Resolume show the first frame. I can scrub through the whole video but it stays paused. When I switch to BPM, the clip starts playing. I’ve checked the clip, layer, and composition as a whole to make sure “play” is active. What am I missing?
