Partitioned drive on laptop

Have been looking online and seem to get a lot of information about how partitioning your drive can either make things way faster or way slower, and feeling a bit lost.

Just wondering what the general consensus is here about whether or not it makes a big difference, to have your OS (and presumably apps) on one and all the clips on another?

If it's relevant, I'll be using a Razerblade 2021 model with a 3060...

partitioning is useful for running multiple OS's on a single drive, or if you want to have a secondary drive with different permissions (kind of a moot point with current OS's), in terms of speed it doesn't affect anything. I wouldn't have multiple partitions if it was me. Just throw in a second nvme

Perfect thank you.

Yeah I'll have a look and see if there's room for some upgrades!

Samsung NVME's seem to be on sale this week, just an FYI. The Blades have 2 NVME slots :)

With two nvme drives, you can make a fast raid ;)
