how using Video Opacity within a Composition "Activate Layer" on?

Hello to all of you,
This is my first time on this forum.
During 15 years, I used ARKAOS. I just bought RESOLUME 10 days ago.
So, I'm not very familiar with the Software. I bought Resolume Avenue.

I've got one question, whom I don't find the answer on Tutos or on the support section :
(Sorry for my english, I'm french)
I want to mix my clips with a Composition in "Clip Target- Active Layer". (Because I work with more than thousands video clips).
But I would like to be able to mix (with video opacity) some clips of the layer 4 with some clips of the layer 3. Or some clips of the layer 3 with some clips of the layer 2...

Is-it possible to do so ?
If someone know the answer, thank you in advance.

have all a nice day

(on instagram, you can see the kind of video that I mix in live. But I must warn you that I don't never use effects and I use figuratives images !)

Welcome to Resolume!
Active layer will start the clips in the layer which is selected (highlighted).
If you select layer 3, start a clip, then select layer 4, and start a clip, you should have layers 3, and 4 playing. Then you can mix them using the layer faders.
Is this what you're asking about?

The layer order in Resolume is from bottom to top. Layer 1 - bottom layer will mix with transparent, then layer 2 will mix with the result of layer 1 vs transparent mix, and so on.
If you have clips playing in layer 2, 3, and 4, the output will be a mix of these layers.

Thank you for your mail.

I know a littte bit how layers work (even if I'm a Resolume beginner and french guy, I'm not totally dumb :)) but your answer did help me, thank you.

I've got a last question (I hope it's the last one) whom I don't find the answer in the support menu :
when I trigger a Column, all the clips of the Column start together. Great. I understrand that. I can mix them together.
But, after playing and mixing the clips of my Column, how can I switch of the Column ?
I know that I can trigger an other Column, or trigger the "X" to clear the playing clip from each layer. But is there a way to clear instantalty the highlited Column (and the highlighted clips of the Column) ?

Thank you again, Zoltan, to give answers in the forum.

The "Master" "X" or the "Layers" "X" would be the only way to do this.

Yes, ok, the Master X. That's what I discovered after spending one hour trying to find any other shortcut.

Thank you for your answer :)

Triggering an empty column would also stop all clips.
