USB-C to HDMI on MacBook Pro max m1

Post by YH97 »

Hi all,

I have a strange problem with my MacBook (pro M1 max) 1x HDMI output and 3 times usb-c

Outputting on the HDMI side is not a problem
I run from HMDI out to HDMI->SDI converter (black magic mini converter SDI to HDMI 6G)
SDI cable until the scaler, there I go from SDI -> HDMI (black magic mini converter HDMI to SDI 6g)
HDMI in on scaler and from there to a led screen wall

When I use my direct hdmi output I have zero problems
When I use my usb-c to hdmi converter (apple multimedia converter) the problems start

My MacBook sees the first converter (just like the case as I use direct hdmi)
Resolume sees my second screen connected
But it only gives a black output....

I tried multiple usb-c outputs, and a different usb-c to hdmi converter

Have any of you had the same problem?
Maybe you found a work around

Second thing:

Is there any plan of resolume going to MIDI Timecode or Artnet timecode?
I know that smpte timecode is being used for resolume
but with the productions of the band I'm working with, everything goes through Artnet
Anyone knows more of this or a work-around?

Thank you in advance!

Is it USB-C internally or thunderbolt / DP?

Yes the Mac is thunderbolt, the converter is clear to use on thunderbolt as well

It might be using usb-c internally though, and that has caused issues before.
Which converter is it exacty?

How are you trying to send the output to the HDMI, via the Advanced output, or Full screen?

Advanced output

When not working with the ub-c to hdmi converter it works
When working with usb-c to hdmi converter it doesn't work

Could you try creating a new Advance output preset, or send the output via the Full screen output option?
