Hi Pros.
I would like to hear how you guys lock your resolume machines.
We definitely do not want folks to mess around with the machine during the time it is not occupied by the OP but from the other hand, we don't want it to affect any output coming out, for example during pre-show time.
Do you know any good apps that block external drives and others unwanted USB devices but allow it if you let's say know the passcode ?

If you're not using your machine, what is it doing out? Is it there just for a logo? Have your switcher/processor capture the image and freeze it, or if it's just some short looping video, render it out pixel perfect and use a $35 mica player as the input until you need to bring your laptop out.
This isn't a resolume feature but more of an OS feature, nothing you can do about that.
I've seen some asus laptops that have a hardware key that when pulled will disable the internal screen but not lock the laptop and keep the outputs active, this is built into the machines hardware to keep the laptop screen alive, but kill the backlight. again, this is an OS feature and this is one way to combat that via a manufacture.
Mica play is a cheap solution. Personally, If i'm not using my machine, my machine LIVES with me!
What is your setup that requires your machine to be active when you're not around?

You can also write some scripts that disable explorer from opening and apps from being able to launch so when the key is removed, you can lockdown your system even further.
I'm a Razer guy, but I love this concept. Pretty cool!

First and foremost, it is a 4U ATX desktop in a fairly big rack.
There are many scenarios: sound check is finished, folks getting in the venue while you're having a beer backstage, setup day is over and you're heading back home until the next day...
I'm looking for a kind of a 'console lock' light or sound desk behavior. input disabled, the output is live.

This goes back to the OS. You can put a lock on Resolume but that won't stop people from getting into your OS.
Why does your machine need to be active when you're not there? Is it just for a logo or loop? A Mica Player would solve that, or have your switcher capture in a still and use that. Just lock your OS, switch sources and call it a day. To do what you're asking would be better asked on MS forums but I know that won't go anywhere lol
If you want to think outside the box a little, you could get a edid spoofer with a passthrough and throw that inline before your monitor. Then add in a key'ed relay PSU and connect your monitor to that and then just turn the power to your monitor off via a key and walk away, the edid spoofer will keep that display active.
The bigger question is, where are you playing that people are screwing with your gear when you walk away? I've been touring for 15 years and I've never seen anyone gain access to my FOH because I also PM and advance proper barricade (not bike rack bs) and security. We've literally been in a middle of a riot (almost died, it was wild!) and 60,000 people still didn't get into my FOH.
