MIDI mappable Beat Snap

Hello!
Would be really cool to see the 'BEAT SNAP' feature be MIDI Mappable in the composition tab!
I've never really used it before because I can't actively switch it on and off, / choose the specifics of the BEAT SNAP using MIDI mappings.
Would love to be able to turn it on, and have the ability to prep a clip well in advance, then turn it back off , and having the chosen clip play on the beat snap! Then continue playing without it until I need it again.
Would love to map this to an LPD8 !
I know this can be achieved by presetting; but I want a lot more freestlye than having something preset --
