How many layers of video do you use when VJing?I am working out the fader layout, what is the average amount of layers that people use while vjing?how many video Layers do you use?

I am working on layout for my prototype vjcontroller.com

I am wondering how I should layout the layer faders. Inital research has suggested around 10 layers should be good for most things. Anyone disagree? Why? Or should I only have a smaller number layer faders?

I'm a minimal guy myself and that is also how I teach new VJ's to work.

Layer 1 -> Logo's and stuff that needs to go over everything
Layer 2 -> Masks
Layer 3 -> Content
Layer 4 -> Content/Background
Layer 5 -> Backgrounds

+ Maybe a layer for effects and/or sound, but that's really it.
I never understood how some VJ's can work with 20+ layers and still understand what's going on :D
But everybody has his/her own workflow ofcourse.

I've done shows with a whole tour on two layers, simply because the shows didn't need any more than that.
But i've also done theater stuff where I needed 14 layers.
