Avenue stutters when loading a new clip.

Hi.
I may have an easy to solve problem inside Resolume Avenue, I have been able to replicate it frequently.

When I haven't changed clips for a few minutes, when I next try to play a new clip, activating it causes everything to freeze for a quarter second while it is loading. This does not happen if I've recently selected clips, only if I've left it alone for a few minutes, and then make a change. It also freezes effects, and the other clips,

I'm using the latest version of resolume.
Windows Laptop, amd 5900hs, rtx 3060, m.2 boot drive, 40gb ram.
Data on usage is consistently approx: cpu 10-20% ram: 20-30% gpu: 20-30%.
Clips are dxv, encoded via resolume alley.

I keep my clips on an M.2 in an external enclosure connected with usb3. Is a drive reconnection causing the stutter? How can I force keeping it connected if that's the problem?

I have solved my own problem, but will post my solution here so that someone else having the same problem can solve it too.

Windows 11:
Device Manager:
Universal Serial Bus Controllers:
USB Root Hub, right click - Properties.
Click the Power Management tab.
Turn off - Allow the computer to turn this off to save power.
There were three of them to turn off, and now it seems to be working just fine.
