Clicking on a slider should move playhead (not cursor to playhead)

Currently:
Clicking on a slider moves the mouse cursor to the current value. I see no benefit in the behaviour. Also, I am unaware where this occurs in any other program ever outside of the toggle-able option of moving the mouse cursor automatically to a popup dialog box
Having to click exactly on the playhead to then pick it up to move it isn't ideal. Maybe this is why this UX was implemented, but in reality it is just the wrong way to solve this issue of moving the playhead.
Feature Request:
Additional Notes:
Never should a UX implementation move the mouse cursor to a different screen location entirely simply in response to a mouse click.

Feature Request:
- Clicking anywhere along the slider should instead move the playhead of that slider to the current position that is being clicked. Clicking a dragging should immediately move the playhead to that location and also follow the mouse cursor movement until the mouse button is let go of.
- Scroll bar like behaviour could be an option. Where similar to clicking on scroll bars inside of programs performs essentially a "page down" you could have the option to have clicking the slider area moves the playhead toward the clicked area a certain amount. Maybe clicking with a modifier key performs this action (example: shift click)
