Performance (edit discard) Mode / Creators (edit saved) Mode

Currently:
Whatever is done during a live show in resolume is saved to the project file. The next time you work on the project file and effect modifications that happened during the show are now the starting point of things inside of the project file.

Workaround: Creating duplicate project files and making sure that during the show you are using the "performance one" and when you want to modify the project for other shows you use the Base model one that is essentially what the state of the project should be at the beginning of a show.

Feature Request:
  • Have an option to enable "Performance mode" which will allow modifications to clips and whatnot, but never save to the project file itself thus preserving the "start of show" state of the project file that can be returned to at any time.
  • Essentially, this is establishing two versions of each project within the project file
  • A settings option to select to either have performance mode end state remembered or discarded within the project file.
Additional Niceties:
  • UI border (customizable color maybe?) that appears around resolume whilst in Performance mode with a Performance mode label very visible (also can be diabled in settings) so that you know when you are in performance mode and when you are in creator (saved edits) mode.
  • Several saved states available at any time during Performance mode that can be saved and recalled at any time via hotkeys or a menu. Basically, Program wide Recall states. These obviously would have to be recalled without interrupting the in progress show.

Going along with this Performance mode, it would be most helpful if there were several points of restore to default (as when saved or defined manually), for effects, clips, layers, and composition. And, have these be midi mapable. There is often a time, after going nuts with improvisation, that I'd like to back out of everything quickly and resume from a point of less going on closer to what I'm familiar with. I imagine a tab listing similar to presets of effects. This could also go so far as becoming a global "look" shortcut that one can quickly call up. This would facilitate my workflow such that each piece that I do in a set of several could have different layer blend modes on each layer, possibly different number of tracks, depending on the composition desired. Going back and forth between them would be so much easier.

Just some thoughts....
