Freezes SSD Problem

Hello colleagues,
Ive been doing VJ for a long while with .MOV files and recently, converted all my clips to DXV 3, which made me start working with an external T1 Samsung with a read speed of 1000Mb's/sec via Type C cable. Had at least 10 gigs without any problem, and working smooth like never seen before (switching clips and working with 3 layers at the same time), but last gig i had some freezes for 5 seconds, the image freezed on the screen and i could delete from layers but the image on the ledwall was there, after 5 seconds video plays again.
Since im vjing, i've always heard that its better playing clips from the internal ssd storage, but with DXV it is complicated. In 2023 do you think this could be the problem?
Im always switching decks and i could have 1700 clips divided on multiple decks. I noticed that the SSD is very hot while playing.
Im working with a MBP 2017 i7 2.6Ghz , 16GB Ram, Radeon Pro 555.
256GB Internal memory.
Any help?
Thank you very much
