hey guys, running DMX from Arena 7 to Capture via ARTnet on one PC (same IP)

I've got all the patching done and capture is receiving the signal spot on, but its inconsistent, every few seconds it drops out and capture loses connection to the universe, then reconnects a few seconds later

sometimes longer sometimes shorter but the drop outs are happening and my Capture live render freezes while its waiting to reconnect.

first time trying out DMX so not really sure where to check, hoping someone here can help

Unfortunately ArtNet itself was not designed to be run on desktops and that leads to problems especially when having two applications using ArtNet on the same machine. The problems are in the OS not knowing where it has to send the signal to.

The flickering of it working sounds like an odd problem though. Often it doesn't work at all, works only in a specific order, or somehow just works correctly anyway. What is the 'Capture' you're sending to? Could you use a dmx monitor to see if what we're sending is what you expect?

Your best bet would be to use more than one device and send from one while receiving on the other.
If that is not an option for you and you're on macOS, then try Windows, localhost mostly works correctly there.
