Video not working with edge detection in wire

I was trying to create the edge detection effect where you can offset/colorize/thicken the edge from one of the tutorials. It works on vector type sources, but not on a video source. On a video source it just creates a line on the bottom of the frame that you can zoom in or zoom out. It doesnt actually detect the edges of the objects in the video. I simplified the wire patch to just take a texture in to the edge detection node to a texture out and it doesnt do anything other than black out the whole image.

Here is the basic patch in wire:

Here is the video with that effect activated(I turned down the Opacity so you can see some of the original, Full Opacity is just a black screen):

Here is the video with the default Edge Detection effect activated, this is what I am expecting the Wire effect to do:

What am I missing?

So google photos doesn’t work to link images? What site actually works for that?

I think what you are missing is that there are two different edge effects. one for shapes and one for video/textures. The one for shapes is called edge and only works on shapes... and the one for textures and video is called edge detection and is in the video effects category. hope that helps you out...

ps.. You can now use copy paste with images from anywhere, just copy from a website and paste into Wire or Arena

I use imgBB (free) for sharing photos on the forum. Slack works with anything ;)

You can also upload images directly to your posts, by drag and drop.
